Thank you ,... Truer words were never spoken,.... for everyone in our community of San Antonio and everyone in Texas who cares about the legacy we create for our children and our grandchildren,.... now is the time to take a stand,.... that 21st century America will not carry forward the same burden and shame that marked our 20th century...
I believe the Immigration raids presently being conducted in more-racist parts of the country, are very much a "civil rights" issue, which bears closer attention by this committee, or another one like it. The "anti-immigrant" movement and sentiment, which is particularly 99% aimed at Hispanics, is not just affecting "undocumented migrant workers", but is also subtly fomenting 'racial profiling' against American Citizen Hispanics, as well by other ethnic groups. It is reviving old racist feelings within our country, which many before us sacrificed their freedom and their blood for. In respect to their memory - we must FIGHT. We continue to watch on TV handcuffed minority (Blacks, Hispanic) detainees being sadistically assaulted, or killed, by police officers.
If we do not promptly send a LOUD AND CLEAR message all the way to The White House, The Department of "Justice" in particular, and our legislators, we will only see this carefully orchestrated Bush administration racially-motivated agenda continue to feed on itself. "Those who choose to ignore history, are doomed to repeat it."
"Those who would deny freedom to others, do not deserve freedom unto themselves, and will live to see it disappear before their own eyes," (or words to that effect were spoken by) - Abraham Lincoln
