I hope that we can quickly "unite" our common campaign.......Bishop Gregory Aymond, Head of Austin Diocese, called me yesterday,Sunday, and I confirmed my strong support for U.S.C.C.B.'s initiatives........Also, on the matter of the outrageous satirical cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad, (reference an email I forwarded to MARC), our campaign must let the world know that Texas will have zero tolerance for such "hate" speech..... On a somewhat related matter of the arrogant "bullying" that, unfortunately, to this day is pervasive in our American political system, I have started a "prayer vigil" with some of our Texas churches (Lakewood Church in Houston) that the 'spirit of the Beast' may be removed from Texas hearts,i.e. Governor Rick Perry's bisexual behavior, and we are, of course, praying that the American journalist, Jill Carroll, held hostage in Iraq be released unharmed... We appreciate your commitment to U.S.C.C.B.'s "justice for immigrants" project and we will work with you and other visionary leadrs to become "beacon of Liberty" in this country of ours and the world we live in. God Bless you & may God Bless The United States of America. With warm regards and best wishes, Ashraf Abbasi Vice Chair- MARC

Thank you for your candidate forum Friday 2/17,......it was the highlight of the Republican Party March Primary season.....As I spoke of transforming Texas into a "Beacon of Liberty" for all the world, ..so that future generations would not have to continually confront the problems of past generations,.......I remembered that I had already committed to U.S.C.C.B.'s "justice for immigrants" project........and because most "Americans" (and most Texans) either "immigrated" or an earlier generation "immigrated"; I now call upon all of Texas to join our "Campaign of Immigrants", as we campaign to become the "beacon of Liberty" for our world. Again, Thank you, thank you, thank you......for your leadership, and I will unite with the Muslim American Republican Caucus to achieve our great goals!
